MEET TOYA JOHNSON
A Political Figure
About Me
Des Moines, IA- ToyA Johnson announced that she accepted the Libertarian Nomination for Iowa House of Representative District 32.
ToyA grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1993. She will be facing the democratic incumbent and a republican candidate as well.
“I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, sister, cousin, friend, and an advocate. I am you or someone you know, even when you don't know me personally, you may know someone who has experienced similar struggles in their lives that I have.” Johnson said. She believes it is in those struggles where people share common ground, that real progress can be made. “I believe we are more alike than different, and that many times. we may just have different ways to achieving goal. However, If you can agree with me on 75% of the issues, then I ask that people consider voting for me.”
Johnson believes a smaller, more efficient and effective government is the key to turning things around in Iowa. “We must remove the barriers to self-sufficiency and to do that we must be innovative and seek major reforms in many areas of government and its agencies. We must also seek to protect the individual rights, as the state's motto demands, “Our Liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain.”
Overall Johnson says she will be willing to introduce and support legislation that maximizes both economic and personal freedoms and minimizes government interference.
THE T.O.Y.A PLAN
T- TAX SOLUTIONS
More Economic Freedom
T- Tax Solutions- While I will first advocate for the removal of the income tax, I also understand that until that can happen, I will have to advocate for more ways to keep your money in your pocket. Those ways include proposing legislation that offers solutions that include better resource management, closing loopholes to corporate welfare and promoting ways to stability
O- OPPOSITION TO OPPRESSION
Fight the Isms
O- Opposition to Oppression, just what it says. There are many forms of oppression, especially systematic oppression. I would be advocating for the reinstatement of voting and second amendment rights for non violent felonies other that voter fraud. I would advocate and propose legislation that legalizes hemp and marijuana, we should not be punishing people for a plant and farmers should be able to plant crops that can generate revenue. While we can not legislate morality, we can legislate accountability and conformance with the constitution.
Y- YOUTHFUL INNOVATION
The Stakes are High
Y- Youthful Innovation. In order for Iowa to pursue and maintain our younger population we must be willing to think and act outside of the box, in order to address the issues we have today and those that affect and effect future Iowans. I believe that I have a proper respect for the process of getting things done as well as having a respect for new ways of accomplishing the work. I would be willing to propose legislation that favors progress and programs geared toward maintaining our future.
A- ADVOCATE FOR THE PEOPLE
For a Better Future
A- Advocate. I am an advocate for the people, The role of any elected official is to do the will of the people they represent. As I have worked in many areas of the community, I believe I have unique understanding of the issues people face today. I also believe the people's will is not being done. Our state motto "Our Liberties we prize and our rights we will maintain. Actually means just that to me. and if elected as your representative I will do my best to advocate for the protection and expanded recognition of those rights. I am proud to support and push for change throughout the community. This is a very serious issue that has been impacting civilians worldwide. It is up to us to address this issue head on, and rally the support needed to make the proper change. If you would like to find out more information about this issue, as well as others, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
